    .wim image recovery

    On a Dell laptop, I had to replace the hard drive since it was having problems.

    At first, I tried to get a download for a Windows 7 recovery image by entering the Product Key (required) of the Dell laptop, and it did not work; most likely being a key for an OEM copy of Windows.
    When I found the factory.wim image on the recovery partition on the original hard drive (hidden then subsequently unhidden) of the Dell (undamaged), I found the following instructions to reinstall, and I had no problems with Windows activation, since the recovery image used was from the original computer.
    The Microsoft Windows AIK (Windows 7 - free download from Microsoft, which I already have) installed (and all instructions worked) OK under Windows 10, but I had to change at least one command line since I installed the AIK in a location other than its installation default.

    My first choice in quality Japanese electrolytics is Nippon Chemi-Con, which has been in business since 1931... the quality of electronics is dependent on the quality of the electrolytics.

      For future use, http://mirror.corenoc.de/digitalrivercontent.net/ are proper links for the original MS ISOs. Torrents might seem sketchy but they are the real thing (I've used before).

      Easier than dealing with imagex .

          Tried (only with keyboard/mouse connected):
          • BIOS + database update
          • Using latest Windows 11 image built with official image creation tool
          • Previous setup version for Windows 11 installer
          • Replacing SSD without a slow block (the previous SSD had a slow block with access time > 500 mS)
          • TPM reset (worked to the point where DRIVER_PNP_WATCHDOG error message is displayed briefly after the point of stalling)
          • Disabling power to WLAN and LAN modules in BIOS (Advanced > AMD PBS > PCI Express Configuration)

          Hi!

          I have a Toshiba L50-B-1U8 that while booting it show no image. The screen turns on though.

          During this phase if I press F2 it doesn't come out of the booting process and I have to turn it off in the power button. I'm assuming it enter the bios menu, it just doesn't shows it on the screen.

          After the booting phase it starts loading windows and the image shows up normally after that. In windows everything is normal and every hardware component works fine.

          The problem is only during the booting process before loading windows.

          I am currently working on recovering my HP Laptop (Model: 17-cn0023dx) after a BIOS corruption issue. The laptop is stuck in a no-boot state, and the Caps Lock light is blinking with a 3.2 code (3 long, 2 short), which according to HP documentation indicates a BIOS corruption failure.
