I can't get this ECS 848P-A revision 2.0 based computer to boot. It stops on its Phoenix BIOS System Configurations summary page, and does not proceed to initialize from there. BIOS sees the hard drive. This is a Windows XP computer. I tried to boot a Linux live CD, but it snags at the Systems Configurations page, as before. Can't boot from floppy either. The last item displayed in the System Configurations block summary is "DDR at Bank(s) :1". I removed one of the two 1-GB sticks of RAM, but this had little effect. Likewise, removing power to the hard drive had little effect. I'm guessing this is a BIOS or hardware issue. Any suggestions how to identify cause of stoppage?

Re: non-booting ECS 848P-A stops at Phoenix Sys Configs
Is there an option in the BIOS to clear ESCD or NVRAM?"We have offered them (the Arabs) a sensible way for so many years. But no, they wanted to fight. Fine! We gave them technology, the latest, the kind even Vietnam didn't have. They had double superiority in tanks and aircraft, triple in artillery, and in air defense and anti-tank weapons they had absolute supremacy. And what? Once again they were beaten. Once again they scrammed [sic]. Once again they screamed for us to come save them. Sadat woke me up in the middle of the night twice over the phone, 'Save me!' He demanded to send Soviet troops, and immediately! No! We are not going to fight for them."
