    Dell 2407WFPb monitor issue

    Hello everyone!

I'm new here, and hopefully I can finally get some help.

I apologize if this topic was already posted somewhere before. I'm still learning the ropes.

So here is what is going on:

About a little while ago, I had gotten a Dell 2407WFPb monitor for about $20. I was uber excited since this was the largest monitor I've owned (24"), and I know these things don't come cheap brand new.

So I set up the monitor, plugged everything in, and booted up the computer. Everything worked fine, the picture looked great, and so on and so forth...

And then something happened. The picture disappeared. I waited for a few seconds since I thought my graphics card was adjusting the picture, but nothing happened. So I tried to shut off the monitor. I noticed that monitor buttons would not work, no matter what. I couldn't turn the monitor off, bring up the menu, and so on and so forth. I had to unplug it to turn it off. So I waited about a minute and plugged the monitor back in and turned it back on. Same thing happened again. I waited a little bit longer, and that was when I noticed horizontal white lines dancing up and down the screen. So I unplugged the monitor again. I decided to open the monitor up to look for any burn marks, popped capacitors, ect. ect. The board was clean. So I checked all of the fuses. All of them were fine. So, with the case apart, I plugged the monitor back in. Even though the problem repeated itself eventually, the monitor remained functional for much longer.

What is wrong with the monitor, and how can I fix it so that I can get it up and running properly without any problems?

    Many thanks in advance, Derrick.
