Wow thanks allot for the heads up!
I just looked and my cheap-ass ODBII cable for my BMW seems to use this fake chip!
I took these photos of it in March of this year, after having fixed some of the worst soldering on it!

yea, it's a car diagnostic i mentioned in the first post - those things cost $$$
