Multimillion dollar settlements reached in LCD price-fixing class action
    The Canadian Press
    Published Wednesday, September 10, 2014 1:37PM EDT

TORONTO -- A group of major electronics companies and their affiliates accused of fixing the price for liquid crystal display panels used in TVs, computers monitors and laptops have agreed to pay a total of more than $37 million to settle a class action lawsuit.

Law firms Siskinds LLP and Camp Fiorante Matthews Mogerman said the five have not admitted to any wrong doing or liability, but agreed to the settlement which has been approved by courts in Ontario, Quebec and British Columbia.

The case dates to 2007 and alleges the defendants conspired to fix prices, market share and production capacity for LCD panels and LCD products.

Siskinds LLP, which launched the suit, said Wednesday that consumers who bought LCD panels or products, regardless of the manufacturer or brand, between 1998 to 2006 are eligible for a share of the settlement. It's expected that those making valid claims will receive a minimum payment of $25.

Under the agreements, Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. and Samsung Electronics Canada Inc. have agreed to pay $21.25 million, while Innolux Corp. (successor to Chi Mei Optoelectronics Corp.) has agreed to pay $10 million.

Also included in the settlement is Japan Display Inc. (successor to Hitachi Displays, Ltd.) on its behalf and on behalf of Hitachi Ltd., Hitachi Canada, Ltd., Hitachi America Ltd., Hitachi Electronics Devices (USA) Inc. for $3.15 million; Chunghwa Picture Tubes, Ltd. for $2.02 million; and Epson Imaging Devices Corp. (formerly known as Sanyo Epson Imaging Devices Corp.) for $1.2 million.

The case is continuing against five other groups of defendants including LG Philips LCD Co., Sharp Corporation, and Toshiba Corp.

    TV Model: Hitachi 40HYC42
    Power Supply: 17IPS71
    MainBoard: 17MB95M
    Panel: VES400UNDS-2D-NO3

When the set came in it was dead. Fuse was open primary side and the power mosfet was shorted. So I ordered a new power supply. Now it turns on, only displays "Hitachi" and then power off red and blue led flashing.

I had to modify the 0ohm resistors in the led backlight of the new PS like the original power supply.
Is there any variants on 17IPS71 power supply's?

Help finding the correct model of a T-Con board on my Hitachi TV
    by sotodefonk
Hi, I have a Hitachi tv model L47V651, there is no image, but sound and backlights turn on, so I believe the issue is the tcon board.

I opened the tv to access the board and took the shared pictures of the T-Con board.

I saw a video from shopjimmy on how to detect the model number on tcon boards, but this doesn't have a sticker like how that video showed all boards.

I searched the P/N number and got results with the same marking name and P/N my board has but they list other specific tv models like Vizio and Philips brand but not Hitachi.

    Hi Guys
I have a customer who has two Hitachi TVs in his bar, one is the model in the thread title and the other is a larger screen but has the same setup menu

He also has an LG TV, so three screens in the bar

    I installed three Satlink ST-6503 DVB-T Modulators
    This model https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32916553905.html

These connect to three satellite receivers via HDMI cables and then connect to a 4 way RF Amp that connects to the TVs on aerial cable. There is no incoming terrestrial antenna. I set the channel ID on the modulators to...

    Hitachi Power Supply Unit Interchangeability
    by navagator
I have a Hitachi 57F710E rear projection set with a bad power supply board. I've tried to fix it with help from this forum as well as another one, but without success. Today I found a Hitachi rear projection set for sale on Facebook that looked just like mine. After contacting the seller I found out it was a 51F510. According to the service manuals my set uses a HA01312, POWER UNIT DP4X-DM_24W and the 51F510 uses a HA01313, U901, POWER UNIT DP4X_24W.

Does anyone know if these 2 power supply boards are interchangeable?

    Thanks.
