hello friends, this time i've got an imac wich needs to be uprgaded to the highest ammount of ram possible, in other cases i've had 27" iMacs that can go as high as 64GB of RAM, no issue. however, this particular case is getting kinda tough...
Case is that i install one Stick of 16GB @1600mhz paired with another 8GB @1600mhz and it works flwalessly.
Problem comes when i install the 2X16GB STICKS @1600mhz
gives the chime immediatly.
I remember once a senior member here piernov Posted a case where a particular ram would not fit some particular mac. and whats this genious did was extrat the SPD info from the ram and wrote to the BIOS's SPD!!!!
i cannot find that particular post, since its been so long since i read that i cannot remember the specific terms mr Piernov used to grab a hold of info.
So if someone here i s kind enough to shed some light to the matter i'll be eternally gratefull.
PD: the other way i think it can be fixed this is by lowering the 16GB stick to 1333mmhz since i dont think 32GB@1600mhz can be actually handled by the buses.
thanks so much in advance, and best regards from the Mayan Riviera.
