Re: picture on n off
Can you please give a more in dept description of the problem and the repair you have done so far, and maybe even some pictures of the problem (a video is also very welcome). Once you have done this, it will be much easier for me and the other members to assist you.Last edited by reaper57; 10-05-2014, 04:25 PM.Keyboard not detected, press F1 to continue...

by valvashonFor some reason I'm just not going to let this 19" TV defeat me. I guess because I have a schematic to work from I feel like I'm oh so close.
History- while adding a turn-on circuit I let a small screw roll under the power board. Worked through all of that circuitry, probably replacing a MOSFET and PWM controller that were not bad but I was following the service manual. Finally figured out that the power supply is in working order when the inverter section (for the backlights) is disconnected. When the +12 supply to the inverter is disconnected the +12 and +5 will come up...1 Photo -
by lostoneHello, I came here after finding some similar questions asked on other monitors and hope someone here can help me get an ancient Viewsonic VP230mp (23" 4:3 LCD) back to working condition.
First a little background, I have a background in computer and electrical engineering, and I'm smart enough to know I know nothing about LCD displays and how they work. For this topic I'm as green as they come.

by Tr0llHi guys! I realized you have a lot of knowledge here so i am hoping you could point me in right direction with my odd issue.
The Tv is a Philips 58PUS8545/12, it had no picture but working backlights.
Original T-con:
Opened the Tv and tested to unplug one ribbon cable at a time. With this test i could see that i got fine picture on both halves as long as there was only one ribbon cable connected, with two connected picture were gone.
First replacement T-con:
I thought it might be t-con and ordered new t-con from china(supposedly tested)... -
by retrorepairHello gurus, hope you can assist me...
I have a Sony KDL.40P3600, with an issue on the left side of the screen (pictures attached).
I think the problem is the panel, but before send it to trash, i would like to get a second opinion.
Thanks in advance.2 Photos -
by KYBOSHHello all
I pick this up free as a repair project for the holidays.
The original symptom was power cycling after 3-4 seconds with a single red light flash.
To remedy this I went through and unplugged each component 1x1 and discovered that when the FFC cables were disconnected the backlights stayed on and the TV did not reboot.
I tried remove one or the other to see which side of the display was causing the issue (expecting to see half a picture to show) but didn't see anything. But the boot loop only appears when the top FFC cable (right side... - Loading...
