Unfortunately, RUFUS did not solve that problem either.
Like other media creation tools, it seems that only removable media can be selected as targets.
External SSDs and VHDs mounted as removable media using Imdisk could not be the media creation destination.

you mean you want the pc bios to boot from it?
then you need an ISO file structure.

For example, suppose you download “mediacreationtool.exe” from the Microsoft website and create an installation media.

At this point, many people will probably select a USB flash drive connected to their PC at the “Please select the media to use” stage.
Usually, bootable media creation tools like “mediacreationtool.exe” only show removable media such as USB flash drives, so you cannot select external SSDs or other non-removable media.
