oxideqt-codecs in Ubuntu 14.04lts?

    oxideqt-codecs in Ubuntu 14.04lts?

    Hi guys;how good is Google Chrome in Ubuntu 14.04? i run Firefox, also when i've installed the Ubuntu Restricted-Extras just before it starts to download i get a notice to unistall oxideqt-codecs,or install anyway, i did remove oxideqt-codecs, do you know what this means,should i install those or do they get conflict down the road?
    I'm having trouble to stream videos full screen on some sites,
    i downloaded Google Chrome stable and i don't have those problems?

    As far as the oxideqt problem, it may be just a conflict with an existing package. You usually can't have two vesions of the same package installed.

    For Firefox, I'm no longer using Ubuntu. But, on my new Fedora 20 install, I had a similar problem with flash video. I finally discovered that it was using HTML5 as the default for video.

    Go into Tools>Add-ons>Extentions and look for "Video WithOut Flash" and disable it.

    Also, make sure you have the Adobe flash and Shockwave flash player installed. Shut down and restart Firefox and check if that fixed it. The reason the Chrome browser didn't have this type of problem is because it has it's own version of flash inside of it.

    I have been an avid user of Firefox since it came out. Before that I used the Netscape browser (which Firefox was based on), because I hate Internet Explorer with a passion. But Firefox has become as bloated as the IE browser that I dumped. I may switch to Chrome and give up on Firefox.

        Thanks guys:i guess it fixed by itself or?.... i went to synaptic and reinstalled Firefox also ticked a few boxes in there and all good,i removed Google Chrome by the simples fact that i can't deal with the Password keying annoying notification showing up all the time and can't get rid of that.

          I wish somebody would release a WebKit or Gecko-based browser that had a powerful extension system (like FF, but less bloated).

              I have found firefox to be the quickest on most computers I spent 99% of my time in Ubuntu with firefox and it's very quick, however on my little netbook with Xubuntu with chrome is the fastest.
