What to do with Mac G4

I just hooked up a Mac G4 that I had sitting around for ages after my father-in-law gave me a monitor. It is running 0SX 10.4 and pretty much stripped down of programs, nothing added. Thought I would use it in my garage while working on different things instead of running in and out of house. It is extremely slow, especially using internet (wireless). Anything I can do to improve performance without spending a lot of money?

Is the RAM DDR or SDR?You can get 2x 512 MB sticks, depending on what type of RAM it uses.
        Main rig:
        Gigabyte B75M-D3H
        Core i5-3470 3.60GHz
        Gigabyte Geforce GTX650 1GB GDDR5
        16GB DDR3-1600
        Samsung SH-224AB DVD-RW
        FSP Bluestorm II 500W (recapped)
        120GB ADATA + 2x Seagate Barracuda ES.2 ST31000340NS 1TB
        Delux MG760 case

My wife has a G4 iMac (15", 1GHz, DDR RAM) that she still uses occasionally. I put a 1 GB stick in it so it had 1.25GB, and that helped. On that model the desktop style 256MB stick is buried inside, but you can add a laptop style stick in the user-accessible RAM slot without digging deep into the box (er, ball).

Just grab Linux Debian Wheezy 7 Iso and install it and you'll have a basic system for the web no flash player though. That's what i did with my Mac G5 and my wife is a happy camper.

I have an iMac G4 and G5, and was considering bringing the G4 to work and setting it up in one of my cabinets. Would that Linux district do well on the 1GHz G4? Would a PPC version of Lubuntu be better?

400MHz G4 CPU? One place for that... Garbage.

Do you think there is any chance of me being able to tether it to my android phone?

I have an unlocked, rooted EVO 4G that I run CM7 on, and was hoping to tether the iMac since I can't use the company network nor would I want to since they have watchdog programs installed.
