I have stumbled across a "smart" signalling UPS cable for a Macintosh (http://www.networkupstools.org/cables/mac-940-0024C.png) and I am wondering if there were any "dumb" signalling (Power Fail, Battery Low, and Shutdown) cables and software for Macs.
The serial port has TxD (+/-), RxD (+/-), HSKi (Handshake IN), HSKo (Handshake Out - not fitted on 128K, 512K(e)), and +12V (128K, 512K(e) only).
To use the serial port in RS-232 mode, RxD+ needs to be grounded.
Some of the UPS cable wiring diagrams for PCs are on http://www.opennet.ru/docs/HOWTO/UPS-HOWTO-8.html
Does anyone know of any "dumb" UPS signalling cables and software for the Macintosh?
