    MSI 649 Neo-V - No Video + More

Got here motherboard that has no video when powered up.

    What have we tried?:
    • Change PSU
    • Changed memory
    • Changed processor
    • Changed agp video cards

It comes to a dead board. The processor wont get hot. When powered on, cpu fan spins and everything that connects to it, but wont turn off by the front power button.

There are no sign of damage. Anyone has similar experience with this ?

CPU won't get hot, sounds like your CPU VRM is borked. Do the caps look good?

on this is 775, also check carefully for bent pins

Every now and then I see a board that acts dead because the battery drained too low. Most will just lose CMOS settings but some won't post at all.

I was hoping that would have been the case with my Asus Maximus II Gene board back in January.

I'm afraid it's more likely a broken socket pin, if anything of the 2.

And my Asus P2B-F (my slot 1 PIII rig) will try to act as if nothing happened when powered up without a CR2032 battery, lol. The worst that would happen was that I couldn't make changes to the BIOS.

          Thanks. I'll check those.
