I wonder why this RAM module failed

    The sticker explains it all

I love putting bad caps and flat batteries in fire and watching them explode!!

No wonder it doesn't work! You installed the jumper wires backwards

Hehe I remember Veritech, first saw them in 2005-2006 and have replaced a lot of them.

Think it's the same kind of crap as what folks report with Micron?
At least with the DDR2 (and maybe DDR3?) D9 chips.

I never heard of Micron DDR1 failing, but there's been reports flooding in of DDR2 (and maybe DDR3) D9s failing.

"At these prices, they won't last" doesn't mean product longevity is limited due to low price.

I thought a "limited" warranty simply meant it didn't guarantee a cash refund.

              "Limited Lifetime"

Whoever wrote/designed that sticker actually knew a lot about the product they were selling.

i have deployed more gskill than anything else and so far only 1 bad stick.
thats about 1200 kits of 2 or 4.
about a dozen bad out of 250 with corsair.similar with ocz.
those tables could turn at any time though.

I normally use Kingston RAM. It seldom gives me trouble. Corsair, on the other hand, seldom works. I've had better luck with no-name RAM than Corsair.

I'm with kc8adu on Gskill. I used to be a big Crucial customer until I was getting failures. They always made good though. Then I went for stocking Corsair, I think I've had one failure from their products. Now I'm a Gskill fan.. I've used hundreds of their stuff in both laptop and desktop applications.. No failures yet and the price is right.

Did anyone else take advantage of the micron/crucial class action suit a few years ago ? I got quite a few letters from the court case offering small restitution claims.

G.Skill, the company that used to say it was OK to ship a module even if it showed up to 2 bad bits during final testing? Also like almost all makers of retail modules, they take chips rated 1333 MHz and overclock them by 30% - 100%.

Unless Samsung modules come back on the market, I think the only way to be guaranteed of not getting overclocked or junk chips is by choosing no-heatsink Crucial.

                          Linux can work around that.

Yeah use Memtest to test your ram, that's the best to check.

doubtful. AMD's next planned chips are DDR3-1866, and I just found this out, fusion chips are going to have separate memory buses for 128-bit GDDR5 for the graphics on the CPU. Wow

Intels Haswell is planned for DDR3-1600

if they are going to tout DDR4, they sure aren't making any hardware for at least a year to take it

*checks DDR(1) prices* Ouch. I guess I'm not going to be upgrading my computer anytime soon. 1 GB is plenty for me though.

Replacing the WiFi module on a vacuum cleaner iROBOT i7
                                          by AlexVG
                                          Hi,
I have had an iROBOT i7 with a camera error (error 68) version REV M, year 2018.

I bought a liquid damaged Mainboard with WiFi module, from the same vacuum cleaner, but a different year and a different version (REV G).
(This board does not respond, only the LEDs light up in a circle.
The liquid damage is catastrophic and restoration is impractical).
(I bought this board to get the WiFi module and camera).

The boards are completely different in the installation of elements, even the connector for the WiFi module is different.

                                          If...

TOSHIBA DLP 52HM95 How to reset timer module on bulb
                                          by repair-it
I replaced the bulb only on my Toshiba DLP The bulb is a TB-25. This is the first time I've done a bulb only replacement. Supposedly there is a timer module that needs to be re-calibrated or reset. I don't know where the module is located. I see some vendors selling the bulb with the housing stating module included which leads me to think the module is located inside the enclosure the bulb mounts in, but I didn't see it. Maybe it's inside the plug attached to the bulb?

Anyway - I am seeking information on how to reset this so called module so that the lamp will operate. Apparently...

Light that has a bug zapper in bottom section of light fixture the LED light module took a crap but the zapper still works
                                          by sam_sam_sam
So I got the bright idea to remove the LED light module from the fixture and put it on top of another enclosure and keep using the zapper

The removal of light module was a successful and now I just have to cut a hole in the enclosure and put a power cord that has an on and off switch on it

You are lucky to get about two years of service out of one before the LED module starts flicking and just stops working because it is mounted on an aluminum plate and these are hard to solder on it and it is not worth messing around with them and especially this one because it has line...

i have a 2017 volvo that i upgraded the stereo in but the week link now is the SBC codec the head unit uses to transmit audio. i took the unit apart and we have a UGKZ2 combo module with a CSR8311 bt chip. after some research it is my understanding that ALPS made another combo module that used the CSR8350 chip. this chip is capable of aptx. https://vehicle-electronics.biz/cont...s-alps-modules

my question is, would it be possible to swap out this UGX module as plug n play? what about replacing the CSR chip itself? any idea where to get either?
