    External Antenna for Edimax BR-6258n

    I'd like to add a RP-SMA socket onto this nano-router, but I'm having trouble identifying any antenna contacts. My best guess is that it's the pad next to the four serial contacts, but I'm not sure nor do I really know how to check (vmm and then touch a wire to see signal change?).



    Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

          the funjins are transformers.
          i dont see a radio section anywhere.unless its the silver part that looks like a clock osc.
          too much glare.

              Im with KC8ADU on this.
              I don't see any RF goodies.
              Can you supply a photo of the bottom of the board?

              Very often an antenna is 'etched' into the circuit board and can't be modified by normal humans.

              Microwave projects are not the best thing for someone new at this.

                  Fixed the offsite image issue. In the future, please attach your images first, and if you want your image inline, use the attachment's address. It speeds up page loading and ensures the image is never a broken link.

                      Recently I switched from my Gray-Hoverman to the Antennas Direct ClearStream 4 MAX. Seems to work about as well as the old G-H in my attic (one-story ranch home), but the Antennas Direct unit can be mounted outside on my chimney if desired.

                      I should mention that I was also using a 29-inch "T" shaped antenna for RF channel 11. I know you're not supposed to use TWO antennas unless they have the same length coaxial cable going into your combiner (and even then there might be problems). So I made sure the cables were equal length.

                      Hello guys! I need a little help, I have one laptop for repair, it is an Aorus 17G YD, gaming laptop.                       I recently moved to a very rural area. I am about 25 miles from the nearest urban settings (2 separate College Towns). 45-50 miles from a Urban City (Toledo Ohio)

                      There was a Omni-directional Wineguard Antenna (amplified) that was mounted on the house originally. Came with the house. Center of the top of Roof a few feet from Chimney on a 4 foot pole. The 75 ohm line went from the roof down 2-3 stories to the small Wineguard amplifier and then it split to the living room and master bedroom. Currently a Very simple setup.

                      Recently I'm upgrading my Gray-Hoverman antenna. Original design. I cannot use a "double-stacked" antenna because of attic space. I do not wish to mount anything to my chimney.

                      I am using a separate antenna for WHAS Channel 11 (they are using RF Channel 11, 198-205 MHz). I replaced my 29-inch "T" antenna made out of #12 or #10 wire.
