Apple products not supporting Wi-Fi Protected Setup?

Today, I found a client's brand new iPad Mini did not support Wi-Fi Protected Setup, even though the wireless access point supported this method.
As far as I know, none of the latest AirPort devices support this method too.

I don't know why Apple would not support Wi-Fi Protected Setup...
My first choice in quality Japanese electrolytics is Nippon Chemi-Con, which has been in business since 1931... the quality of electronics is dependent on the quality of the electrolytics.

That's a good thing. Wi-Fi Protected setup is horribly insecure.
36 Monitors, 3 TVs, 4 Laptops, 1 motherboard, 1 Printer, 1 iMac, 2 hard drive docks and one IP Phone repaired so far....

My thoughts as well. Apple did something wise for once.
