Has anyone overclocked this chip? I have it in my main rig and was wondering how far I could push it with 2Gb (2x1) of Samsung PC2-5300 and an MSI G41M-P33 motherboard. PSU is classic Acbel 550W. Thermaltake AlCu rifle bearing 92mm cooler. Any suggestions on how far I could OC?

Re: Core 2 Duo E6600 Overclocking?
Personaly I use in my main box a Q6600.
But just the model of your MB does not sound as great platform for acrobatics.
My advice .. keep it at default. -
Re: Core 2 Duo E6600 Overclocking?
based on ur mobo and ram info. u shud be able to overclock it to around 3ghz using 333fsb and 9 multiplier. vcore needed shud be around 1.35V.
however, as ur mobo only has 3 phase power, u shud not try any extreme oc past 3ghz lest ur board catches fire like the asrock fm2 mini-itx which is currently causing an outrage around the community.
if u can find a better board with at least 6 phase power, overclocking ddr2-800 or 1066 ram and a 120mm or 140mm heatpipe tower cpu cooler, u shud be able to clock it to around 3.6ghz to 3.8ghz. but always be careful. cpus start to give off tons of heat as u approach the 4ghz barrier.Comment

Re: Core 2 Duo E6600 Overclocking?
I got my C2D 6750 to 3.2, 3.3 if I really try, but I have to keep a blower on the northbridge heatsink (nforce 750i) or it would burn up, cause I maxed out the voltage on it. But right now, it maxes out at about 49C
ok I actually have two high speed fans on itCap Datasheet Depot: http://www.paullinebarger.net/DS/
