Hello, ..i need help on this. I have two pc both are Dell optiplex 745 but one is "Core 2 duo" and another one is "Pentium D". ..i want to swap motherboads only but not proccessor. IS IT SAFE to do that?

Make sure the pentium D board had its BIOS updated to the newest version. The pentium D may have had a beefier cooler and PSU, if so, keep them with their respective CPU.

Not all dell motherboards are built the same, but the 745 can take a PD or a C2

by Geeker007Hi All, I have a 9th Gen Dell Optiplex micro PC motherboard which doesn't power on. When I connect the motherboard with power adapter, it goes into safe mode and turns off. So from info I have gathered online, it looks like there is a short circuit on the motherboard. So can you guys help me with figuring out the issue?

What I have around is a DELL OPTIPLEX 3060 Micro (USFF), which is not powering on, even not showing any signs of life (No amber / white LED).
I got a original 65W DELL PSU / Power brick (PA-12 / 074VT4) which hopefull should be the correct one. I could get another DELL PSU with the Partnumber 0G6J41 with the same 4.9mm DC Jack connector as the one I already have, but I dont think that would help (maybe... -
