4 broken motherboards for 18$ do you think it's worth it??

A guy just offered me 4 motherboards 3 of which are socket 478 and a msi P45 lga 775. Do you think it's worth to buy them and is there any hope of resurecting them if it's not a cap problem? The P45 shouldn't be with a cap problem cause all of them P45's are with solids.

    No.

$10 max, $5 or less is good. Keep in mind that if it isn't caps and you can't fix it, all it is good for desolderable parts.

It might be a mosfet, those are replaceable or even a crystal if there are any... And a P45 would be a nice catch if I can get it working.

Can hardly give away 478 boards.if they wont sell for enough to be worth my time recapping or are types commonly used in industrial stuff they hit the recycle box.
the p45 is worth a shot if the socket is not trashed.i would buy it near scrap price and try to save it.
the others i would offer to recycle

Market may be a bit different in Macedonia? I would guess IT goods
are expensive and even older models will still be sought after.

478 boards are still around and there is still market for them. A good 478 bard can go for 20$ easy, maybe more. If I get the P45 working it can sell for about 50$ but I'm thinking of keeping it. If I don't get it running I can still use the caps for poly modding. So a single 478 board will get me my initial investment back

Got the boards today and the P45 turned out to be a P55 not much difference. Will seek for advice here once I start troubleshooting.

                  ^ yep it is. Intel P55 is LGA1156 (for Core i3, i5, and i7)

Everyone who got suckered into buying those got pwnt.. same for LGA 1366.
It's obsolete already (no more new CPUs, current ones are about to be discontinued this year)

Well, my PC is Skt 1156, but that's because I got the board for only $50 and the CPU from a PC that had it's motherboard fried by lightning (but the other parts survived).

Is it possible bridging tiny broken trace
                        by chth96
When I assembled dreamcast I mistakenly fastened long bolt and It resulted in
                        cutting tiny trace.
This tiny trace(Total width of white coating is 5.5mm) is between R337,R343 and IC101 and it is covered with white coating in the below screenshot.

Firstly I tried to bridging tiny broken trace with my own eyes...But it is totally impossible..So a week ago, I ordered G1200 Digital Microscope and I magnified this tiny broken trace with it.

But It seems that It is really very tiny trace So I plan to order 0.1mm coper wire from aliexpress in order to bridging...

Hello guys! I need a little help, I have one laptop for repair, it is an Aorus 17G YD, gaming laptop. Broken display, some cable ripped form daughter board connector, case broken, battery discharged and probably locked, etc. After I did the most tedious job I ever did on soldering back the broken cables (shielded cable) , I measured resistance on CPU and GPU core, 3 and 5 v ps and any coils I find on the board, everything seems to be fine. After I plugged the charger I don't get the power led light on from the charger connection maybe because the battery is locked , but on power button I have

Resonator - quartz broken - how to find the same (same frequency) ?
                        by corrize
Hello, I have a Fujifilm hybrid camera with an issue : the time don't run. I set 12:00 and 3 min later, the same : 12:00
I saw an obvious root cause : a broken quartz (resonator). But with the box broken, I can't read the marking code. Probably : 464… or A64…
I found on the web a picture of the same camera board but with marking code very different. Probably : A7…5N
I'm searching another one for compare…
Do you have an idea or another way for find the frequency of this resonator please ?

We have an Lenovo Yoga 710 15ISK that we use as a secondary laptop. To cut a long story short, around May 2023, while traveling, I connected the laptop into an electrical outlet that was already switched on. Something made a "pfft" sound and the laptop refused to turn on after that. After getting back home, I gave the the laptop for repair to an informal repair person. He replaced the adapter and an internal motherboard part, but after he returned it I noticed that the LCD did not look normal. Essentially, every alternate horizontal line on the screen had gone missing. The laptop was...

I have old game console which have connected to 220v outlet by previous owner and It is not able to turn on.

I checked continuity of fuse in PSU unit with a multimeter which is shown in the below picture with a orange circle around it, and It seems that fuse became open circuit.

I also found that as well as bulging capacitor, there is unidentified coil which has residue all over its surface

I want to replace this round black fuse and unidentified coil if it got broken.
