Re: Cooler Master Copper Ram Heatspreaders
and finally installed in my case. looking good.
one comment is that the instructions talk about thermal adhesive tape which you have to remove from the thermal pads. after 10mins of trying to figure out how to remove the tape with a pair of tweezers i decided that there is actually no tape on these thermal pads. it wouldnt be the first time cooler master has changed the spec but not the instructions in the packs.....please let me know if you think i did it wrong..Comment

by TopcatThis is a Coolermaster case double-header.... The reason this one didn't get added to my 'misc build' thread is becasue the Cooler Master ATC-S aluminum case....That case is a class-act way above & beyond anything in that thread! However, we have to get through a mediocre build to get to the treasure!
...but here's the two Cooler Master cases in question; both of which were drop-offs for recycling.... The one on the left, I'm not really sure what model it is. It's nothing overly special, but it is well-made. The one on the right is an ATC-S solid aluminum, best I can determine...-

by anikin73I am attempting to repair this. Circuit is quite simple, but i a quite stuck at it for a long time. so today i try to ask for new ideas. my challenge is to under stand what mistake i made. I had repaired not lesson than 50 pcs of various brands ATX psu . main pwm chip is Cm 6805 Sip 9 .
5VSB is fine. When I short Pson, totally nothing happen. I check , the Cm 6805 VCC pin2 did have 16v, But totally nothing happen. I changed to a good chip from another good PSU. Same thing.
What other pin should I check such that it will result in no start up at all ?

by dariolanaGot this from my kid with a fault on primary side. Main power supply here is AC 220V. All caps were Ok, testing with 2 series lamp of 70W each, got a bright lamp
. Checked main heatsink one by one with my component tester and found one 3 leg buddy MDP18N50 that passed away. Got same replacement after a week, tested, short was gone, now I got 310V on primary.
Happy as a dog, added one case fan for some load and the fan of the PSU. Tested purple wire, got 5.1V, great!. Shorted green and black, fan spins and after about 5 seconds shuts down. I was able to measure doing several iterations...6 Photos -
by stomanataHappy new year.
This PSU use WT7527V supervisor.
On purple cable i have 5V, but on #4 of WT7527V i have 0.21V.
If i try to start PSU with short between green and black it star for a second and stop.
For what other to check? I now that is needed more info but i don`t know what else to share -
by tony359Hi all,
The PSU in question had a bad power switch. There was not physical feedback when switching on and - if memory serves - it was always ON even when in OFF position.
I researched a bit and got some replacements.
The replacement "got stuck" at first power up - as in "it's now always on".
It looks like this PSU has a pretty large inrush current as my lights flicker when I turn it on with no load.
Probably the switches I got are bad quality but I was wondering if someone could recommend a good replacement?... - Loading...
