      Could not cross-ship as it was not under full warranty anymore. Labor only.

      They will repair it for $42, parts only. No labor charge.

      The U3 Chipset was defective. So far I've invested just under $100 in this board.

      Update when I receive repaired unit.

        Repaired board received. Untested at this time. No additional charges for return shipping.

        They replaced the Intel Southbridge (U3).

          So they removed and replaced the Southbridge Chip on the existing board?

          They must have some very nice rework equipment.

            I was thinking the same thing. Very impressive that they actually repaired the board as opposed to shredding it and sending you another one. hats off to Supermicro.

            FWIW, I use only supermicro boards in any and all of my good builds.

              Yes. The original board. Job is excellent and if you didn't know, you wouldn't be able to tell.
