I'm looking for a waterblock for my Powermac G5 cooling unit. Seems I was a little too beastly and broke one of the hose connections. Can anyone help?

Re: Mac G5 2.5 ghz waterblocks
look around... there is a thread in this forum about that... pentium broke the refill valve off of his block.
you can have someone TIG weld the connection back on. iirc that is what pentium did.sigpic

The water block is actually the component the sits on top of the processor. The top end is made of plastic.Comment

Re: Mac G5 2.5 ghz waterblocks
I broke off the stupid filler nozzle which is a lot different than the barbed ports on the waterblocks. Rule of thumb is that when you wanna replace the hoses, cut them off. Don't pull. Also, refilling these waterblocks are a pain in the ass. I had to rig mine up to an external power source so I could get all the air out of the loop.Find Nedry!

JB weld works wonders on these kinds of things......but with any liquid cooling in a computer, pressure test it and MAKE SURE there's no leaks!<--- Badcaps.net Founder

Re: Mac G5 2.5 ghz waterblocks
Thanks for the tips.
I actually found a one part epoxy at Ace Hardware called Plastic Surgery made by Surehold. It worked great.
thanks again, this is a great forum!Comment

Topcat! Your doin' it again!
"there's no leaks"
Bad kitty!
Since there's=there is
-is- is singular
-and- is plural
So it would be:
THERE ARE NO LEAKS!!!
ps i asked my mom,and my english teacher they agreed with me!

Note to mods: please remove the first thread i posted. It had crappy title. Hopefully this will make some powermac expert look at it more likely
So i bought PowerMac G5, which worked for around an hour. Then i decided to partially strip it down and re-paste CPU, after which it still worked. However just after i added DDR2 memory into it and connected it to 220v, the mac made a loud pop noise, diagnostic leds on the front side of motherboard shortly blinked and since then, the power mac has no signs of life at all
PSU is API4fS13. There is no visibly broken component... -
by SnownomowHello!
I recently successfully repaired two Apple PowerMac G4 MDD power supplies by swapping out bad caps, per excellent info found in various threads on this forum - yay!
I was doing testing on one of them, the ACBel API1PC36, with it's case open and had it setup outside of the PowerMac resting on the table with it's power connected to the system (power was also connected to a couple SCSI HDD drives, for a bit extra load). It was working fine, I shut down the system but did not unplug the PS from the power strip (and power strip was left on) so power was going into... -
by SnownomowHello!
First want to thank folks on this forum (Toasty, etc) for the very useful info I've found here that has allowed me to repair a PowerMac G4 MDD Samsung power supply and get this ACBel one working better!
I got a PowerMac G4 MDD for free as it was dead (not booting at all). I was able to confirm it was it's ACBel power supply as another (above mentioned Samsung) power supply works ok with the system.
With this ACBel power supply installed, the system would not boot at all, no power light blink, nothing. I've gone ahead and replaced the "12... -
by MasterCapHi, I broke my 6700xt after doing a copper shim mod, w/ thermal paste and pads on everything. Probably a bad idea, but IDK exactly what went wrong. I'll make a post later with some pics/ diagrams. But currently , there's no output, even in Linux. And I've started making my own schematic in LTSpice and marking up some pictures of it.
And I've never worked on a GPU before, but I'm pretty familiar with LV power electronics.
I see some 5700xt's look pretty similar, anyone know were to find some good threads/discussions, or info stuff similar to 6700xt and it's IC's ? How... -
