    X-Pro Caps (without 'Panasonic' marking) is it 'kosher' ?

    hi there,

    i'm kinda new in recapping things... i've got these caps from a well-known and respectful DIY audiophile parts shop in jakarta :

    (attachment)

    X-Pro 3300uF, 16V... in green radial packaging... the 'doctor' (the shop-owner) said it is released by Panasonic, nevertheless i whatsoever couldn't see any Panasonic marking / brand name on those caps... can gurus here give me some opinion or share the experience regarding those 'Panasonic' X-Pro caps? thx.

    the "M" logo stands for Matsushita (= Panasonic)

    never heard of those "X-Pro" caps though..

    edit: if they also have the Panasonic-Style "T" vent on top...

    ..and a rubber bung similar to this...

    ...they are most likely genuine Pannys..

          I wrote and asked Panasonic for a data sheet on those and their rep said they don't have one because they quit making them something like 15 years ago.

                Odd to not have date code either, send a spare to tophat and have it analysed for ESR and dating or something? Also to make sure it is not general purpose type.

                Old stock electrolyics for small values is undesirable as caps sitting around for years do perish.

                  It would probably be a useful series if they did revive it.
                  I'm they'd be somewhere between FC and FM.

                  I bought a small quantity as a sample.
                  They have a date code in red on the side.
                  Problem is the date code uses a 1 digit year.

                  Seller claims they are 200'7' manufacture but by what Panasonic said they would be 198'7'??

                  Seems if they were a current series in 2007 Panasonic would have a data sheet out by now.

                    are these some sort of audio cap?
                    maybe custom for an oem?
                    or just fakes?
                    they look enough like a panasonic product but anything can be faked today.

                            Mine have red ink and the letters run axially. (Lengthwise rather than around.).
                            It's a smaller font. (Thinner lettering.) Same type letters you'd see on FJ series.
                            Mine say "76JY"
                            '7' is the year.
                            Not sure what the rest is.

                              The Panasonic date codes are a pain in the ass to read. The small dark red print on a blue/black sleeve has to be somebody's idea of a joke.

                              Somebody a while back posted a doc that explains the date codes. I'm not sure what the link is but it's a small file so I've attached it.

                              There's apparently 3 different formats, but 76JY is probably the 2nd one they list (I guess):

                              (A) (B) (C) (D):
                              A = last number of year
                              B = month (1-9 and O for Oct, N=Nov, D=Dec)
                              C = line code (A-Z)
                              D = production date (A-Z: 1st-26th, 1=27th, 2=28th, 3=29th, etc)
                              So if that's the format they're using then 76JY is "June 25th, xxx7"

                              The caps I've seen have another format with greek letters in them. Why?

                                    Hello! yes I know there is already lots of information about this issue. I have a Panasonic TC-P55ST50 that originally displayed an 8-blink error code. Following the troubleshooting flowchart, I ended up replacing the SS board. However, even after replacing it, the issue persists. The TV turns on and stays on without displaying an image, and continuity is confirmed on all connectors. What am I missing here🤔?
                                    Ok Im a mechanical engineer ...but I thought I was able to follow a rather simple flowchart for electric troubleshooting 😂.

                                    Hello. I am asking you for a hint on how to solve the problem with my touchbook Panasonic CF53-2 standart model. After setting up the BIOS, the laptop displays the wrong image until Windows loads. (More precisely, it displays, but distorted, instead of the Panasonic image immediately after turning it on, it displays what is in photo #1 in the attached file) Then the image appears when Windows starts loading and then there are no problems with the screen until the reboot. If you enter the BIOS, just a black screen. If you connect an external screen, the image on it is the same as on the built-in...
