wrist strap is to stop static from you. should be attached to wrist and other end to some grounded metal like case of another pc which is plugged in is pretty nice.

i mentioned the boards and internet, but that did help. i then sent the intel advisory link but that did not work either. there is no date or recall. it is just a warning. then, i found a dell extended warranty for these motherwords which is valid until January 2008. i think this helped.

I didn't realize you got the Intel board through Dell or I might have mentioned that too.

Mention Badcaps.net. They should just give TC $50 to fix it for you!

After updating motherboard capacitors, what to do next (Asrock K7VT2, SOLTEK SL-75FRN2L)
              by dragon3x
Hi, I have some 32 bits computer motherboards that need repair, as they fail to
              power on.

              Here are some examples :

(N.B. "capacitors" indicated here are electrolytic capacitors located in the onboard
              switching supply area).
              (N.B. #2 : I could not find a 3300 microF aluminum-polymer with a higher voltage
              than 6.3 V.)

1 - Motherboard #1 : this is an Asrock K7VT2 (socket A) that still works well. To put it on test
              I replaced capacitors with aluminum-polymer.
              3300 microF/6.3 V. x 4 replaced by 3300 microF/6.3 V. (KYOCERA...

Can I substitute these capacitors on a D865PERL motherboard?
              by ribcage
Hello, I'm repairing an old Intel motherboard D865PERL and I wonder if I can substitute capacitors in this way:

              Nichicon VR(M) 470uF 10V 6.3x11mm B0341 85*C (red in picture)
              and
              Nichicon VR(M) 100uF 25V 6.3x11mm B0341 85*C (green in picture)
              with Suncon "low impedance" 330uF 6.3V 6.3x11mm 105*C

              Nichicon VR(M) 470uF 16V 8x11.5mm B0311 85*C (blue in picture)
              with Suncon "low impedance" 560uF 6.3V 8x11.5mm 105*C

These are the most similar I can find of a reputable brand. I don't...

did bad capacitors kill my motherboard or prolonged exposure to faulty psu?
              by stanwebber
i've got a pretty rare motherboard that i'm evaluating for repair. it's a biostar m7mia-raid which is the only ddr socket a motherboard ever produced, consumer or industrial, with an isa slot. its 20 years old now and finally gave up the ghost last month. i was saving a dd image of the hdd to a portable usb drive when i found it unresponsive with a black screen and a solid lit hdd led. after forcing it to power down it never posted again. the psu/cpu/case fans will spin and the onboard motherboard power led will light up, but no beeps or error codes even with the cmos reset and ram plus all expansion...

Need help identifying capacitors on an MSI MS6163 ver 1. motherboard
              by varkatope
              Hey there, retro fans.

I have an MS6163 version 1 board I'm trying to repair which was obviously used as a donor because it's missing a few parts, mostly capacitors. There are few high quality images online that would allow me to read the capacitor values (bad angle, blurry photos). I thiiiink I've figured out most of the values for the missing ones except for one in particular, number C210, which is in the bottom-left of the attached photo. Could someone with this board be so kind as to take a look at theirs and tell me the capacitance and voltage values of all the highlighted missing...

Asus ROG Strix Scar G533qm with a G733qm Motherboard, can I modify the Bios to accept G533 Bios
              by glovecaps
              Hello,

I have a Asus ROG Strix Scar 15 (G533QM) that had a dead motherboard (Graphics card dead) and after trying to fix the motherboard with no success, I bit the bullet on a sale for a new motherboard. I ordered a motherboard for the 15 inch model which is the one that I have, and when the motherboard arrived it wasn't for a little while that I saw it was from the 17 inch model.

My question is, can I update the Bios on this G733 motherboard to a G533 Bios.

The reason for wanting to do this is that the keyboard isn't working as it should, and I think this...
