    HELP Identifying netbook SMD capacitor

I need help identifying this smd component. The one circled in yellow. I think it's a capacitor (gray color with no markings). Is there a possible way to know its value even without the schematics? The board by the way is from Samsung NC110P netbook.

    Model: LENNON2-L
    Rev.: 1.0
    BA41-01748A

And here is another marking below the board:
    HannStar J
    MV-4 94V-0
    .12035

Thanks in advance for any help I can get.

Did you forget to post the picture?
If problem uploading use manage attachments Jpg less then 3mb should work
Please upload pictures using attachment function when ask for help on the repair

Re: HELP Identifying netbook SMD capacitor

On the right of the SMD is the LCD connector. the problem of this laptop is dim display even if I changed the LED panel and cable with a new one. This SMD capacitor does not register any readings (open) in both polarity so I think this is the faulty one. Please help.. Im a newbie but I love learning this things very much.

Picture is way out of focus to see what is going on? Is there printing like Cxx next to that component?
"This SMD capacitor does not register any readings (open) in both polarity so I think this is the faulty one." Capacitor will show as open circuit when you test for DCR (on large capacitance will see the resistance goes up as the cap being charged by the meter), you read the capacitance not the resistance (unless you want to read the ESR) of the capacitor.
BTW "the problem of this laptop is dim display" did you check the dimming control signal?

            Thanks BudM for your insights.

"Picture is way out of focus to see what is going on? "
I'll upload a better picture later.

"Is there printing like Cxx next to that component? "
I was really wondering why this board has no markings for capacitors, coils, ICs, resistors, transistors, etc. Connectors like LCD, HDMI, LAN, USB, DC in, Fan, DIMM socket and Speakers are the only markings that I can see here.

I am using an analog multimeter to test this capacitor so when I saw that the needle did not even go to the left then back to the right even if I reversed the connection, I concluded that this capacitor might be faulty(open). Am I right with this?

"BTW "the problem of this laptop is dim display" did you check the dimming control signal? "

Please help me pinpoint where to check for the dimming control signal. By the way, I can't find any schematics for this type of laptop board.

Thanks again and I appreciate your help.
