I had an old CTL monitor from ~2005. It would buzz decently loud in stand by mode and very silently while running full brightness. It was filled with Elite caps so I replaced all of them (Unfortunately I had to leave the only Lelon, a 100uF 50V cap) and it stopped buzzing completely...All of the Elite caps I pulled were within 10% of their capacitance, and ESR measured from 0.02 - 0.09 ohms. The Panny FC and UCC KY caps were slightly lower ESR measuring from 0.01-0.06 ohms, is that why the buzz went away? Maybe the coils and transformers like the lower ESR?
That's all I can think of, because isn't <0.10 ESR already low enough?
