    what's wrong with long leads?

I do jobs recapping things and I am in the habit of leaving long leads (not on the boards backside, but between cap & motherboard.)

the reason I do this is that sometimes I feel that it can take too long of heat exposure to get a good solder flow, and I want the caps as far away from the heat as possible, to minimize any heat damage.

what's wrong with just folding my long leaded caps out of the way when I am done?

    Quote from another thread:
"it's to minimize the impedance of the capacitors, which is important in switchmode power supplies. When working at high frequencies, you need to think of any length of wire as a coil (inductor). The longer the leads, the more trouble they can make."
Please upload pictures using attachment function when ask for help on the repair
