I have a HP dv6000 I'm re flowing for a customer. When i was taking everything apart i noticed a bad capacitor and was wandering what type it is so i can replace it. Any questions feel free to ask. Thanks very much.

That's an evil type of capacitor, a monolythic ceramic. Seriously, SMT monolythic ceramic caps are brittle and susceptible to cracking ... and shorting. When they do, they can damage the PCB. My guess is that that is a decoupling cap for the adjacent IC, probably between .1uF and .47uF. You might try something in that value range, of that size, preferably of a Flex-Term or similar flexible termination, preferably X7R ceramic, preferably rated for 10X or greater than the in-circuit DC voltage.PeteS in CA

During maintenance on an RTX 2070 SUPER Founders Edition, I found a capacitor lying on my desk after reassembly.
I did not notice it detaching, so I am unsure of its original location on the PCB.

- Removed backplate
- Cleaned heatsink and PCB with isopropyl alcohol + soft ESD brush
- Reapplied thermal compound

I have a Asus ROG Strix Scar 15 (G533QM) that had a dead motherboard (Graphics card dead) and after trying to fix the motherboard with no success, I bit the bullet on a sale for a new motherboard. I ordered a motherboard for the 15 inch model which is the one that I have, and when the motherboard arrived it wasn't for a little while that I saw it was from the 17 inch model.
My question is, can I update the Bios on this G733 motherboard to a G533 Bios.
