    DFI Lanparty 925X-T2 Motherboard

Here are all the caps I see on this motherboard (haven't used it yet, it's still new in a box, I will probably be using it soon after getting $$ to build it up more:

newegg.com order date was 6/6/2005, so that gives you a idea of the age.

    4 "KZG" 16V 1500 UF caps Other Numbers: (M)105 C (Temp I guess) 4 (7) OS

10 "KZG" (unsure, the tiny logo on it looks like the logo on the 16V ones above) 560 2.5V caps. Other numbers on them: A 496

    22 "KZG" 6.3V 1000 UF Caps Other Numbers on them : (M)105 C (Temp I guess) 4 (k) 8R

    14 "Nichicon" 16V 100UF Caps Other Numbers On Them: 105 C (Temp I guess) A0443 VZ(M)

    9 "KMG" 6.3V 470UF Caps Other Numbers On Them: (M)105 C (Temp I guess) 4(7) OD

59 Total Caps on this board.

Are these good? bad? I've never used the motherboard, it's still new in the box. I hope this helps add potential bad or good caps to the database and help more people avoid the plague of bad ones or provide good ones

Also, what is interesting with these is what the box for the motherboard claims, seen below:

Here are the rest of the photos I took. when I am not as tired and have fresh batteries for my camera I will take more/better ones if needed.

edit: full unresized photos of the above images so more detail is shown:

I know that, just thought I would post it here. I don't have the cash yet to buy the needed parts for the rest of the system. made more sense to me that I should post here first before squandering money on the board to have it burning up and dumping electrolyte 2 weeks after I bought all the parts

i've got some dead computers here that are old and useless, would doing writeups on the caps help any?

nope it will last years probably. it is a nice board indeed, except for all the damn orange. are you gonna use all the orange accessories included also?

anyway welcome to the forum. i hope you find the cash to get it up and running and show us the great moment.

post whatever you like, you will get a feel for what the guys are interested in here by the responses to your posts. tip - post pics for discussion, they like that. maybe some of the old stuff can be repaired and sold to fund your new system?

yes I probably will. it's default purpose is going to be a server, a very mean one. I run webservers, news servers, ftp servers, and more. this board will provide alot of power for years and tons of storage for photos I will be taking

thanks for the welcome to the forum. i've got some old socket 7 clunkers here, i'll see if they are oozing like a leaky dam or popped like popcorn I also have some amd ones around also, first time i've ever had amd hardware in my paws. I like intel too much, but their current logo change sucks :P

              Re: DFI Lanparty 925X-T2 Motherboard

i'll probably be running 2003 server. linux is just fine on my old dell gx1. i've got a 266 mhz PII dell gx1 with 197 mb of ram, 15 gig hard disk and fedora core 3 running a irc server with full services. too bad no one is using it. need a chat room for the site?

edit: right now i've got 2000 server on a dell gx110 with 391 mb of ram, 40 gig ibm deskstar hard disk, and a maxtor 120 gig. I really need more room :P the photos above are hosted on it

Be careful with that DeskStar if it's 75GXP or 60GXP - they're called DeathStars.
Bad caps on Socket 7 boards are rare.

I know all about the ibm deathstars. it's a 40 gig. I don't keep too much important stuff on it, i've got other dump zones for crucial files.

                    Re: DFI Lanparty 925X-T2 Motherboard

those DFi Boards are loking realy fine, but i`ve read to mutch about problems reagarding the PSu and memory . I have to build a rig for a friend of mine, and at the moment i hesitate to take a DFI Ultra D (nf 4, Dual PCI-e). At first i had choosen an 400w Amacrox Free Earth PSu, but haveing read the DFistreet`s PSu recomendation, i switched to an 500w unit, of same Series. Next is the memory, i want to use MDT 2x1024mb, but as far as o know this could be problematic. At the moment i am not quite shure if this mobo is wort all the trubble. Even Asrock is able to produce mobos wich don`t need an 500w PSU an working well with MDT Ram. Why DFi can“t do that?
