Are there BadCaps in Cell Phone/PDA Devices?

I have learned about problems (data loss, speaker problems, resetting, etc.) with Palm Treo 600 and 650 Smartphones which include a cell phone and PDA computing device together in a small package - does anyone have any theory that such problems with the device are caused by bad or impacted capacitor(s)? Any information would be useful.

    Interesting topic.

I haven't found anything about bad capacitors in these devices, but I have found two bad electrolytic capacitors in the audio section of a Sega Game Gear. Replacing them fixed the problem which was causing the sound to be very weak, even at full volume.
My first choice in quality Japanese electrolytics is Nippon Chemi-Con, which has been in business since 1931... the quality of electronics is dependent on the quality of the electrolytics.
