PS5 EDM-010 Schematic & Service Manual Repair Advice Needed
Hi everyone,
I'm currently teaching myself board repair and schematic/boardview analysis, and I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction.
I can generally follow schematics and boardviews when the net names match and are clearly labelled. However, on the board I'm working on, all of the nets are named things like NET1, NET2, NET10000, etc., rather than having meaningful names for the power rails and signals.
I'm struggling to understand how experienced technicians identify and trace power rails in this situation. Are there any methods, techniques, or resources you would recommend for determining which NETxxx names correspond to specific power rails when the original net labels are missing?
To make things more challenging, the boardview I'm using also doesn't appear to have component designators listed, which makes cross-referencing between the schematic and boardview difficult.
I'm still learning and have picked up a lot so far, but this is an area where I'm getting stuck. Any advice on how to approach these types of schematics and boardviews would be greatly appreciated.
