Hi there,
I have a liquid-damaged Macbook Pro (logic board 820-02100-A) that I'm trying to bring back to life. After inspecting it with a thermal camera, I saw that the LCD backlight driver (UP800, RAA209100B) was lighting up and confirmed a fault; there was an internal short in the IC on one of the two output rails (I believe it was BT_C2). I sourced a replacement and swapped it out. Being an idiot, I didn't do any further testing of the board after the replacement, but just reinstalled the board fully and attempted to power it on. It didn't turn on, but the USB-C port was showing... -

I am troubleshooting a MacBook Air M1 Model A2337, Logic Board 820-02016 that suddenly went completely dead with no signs of life, no trackpad click, no display.
Here is what I have done and found so far.
Initial testing involved trying a soft reset and testing different USB-C chargers including a 75W PC charger, but the board pulled no current and remained unresponsive.
Battery isolation was the next step. I opened the Mac and disconnected the battery connector. Testing on wall power yielded the same result, it was totally dead.... -
Hi everyone! I'm trying to fix my black screen / failed U8900 GPU v-core on my Mid-2012 Macbook Pro 15" Retinaby doing a rework/reflow of the chip (once I determine that's the real issue; but it likely is).
I've been disabling the GPU in NVRAM for a few years... but it's just time for a better solution.
I'm new to soldering but the only feasible way to fix this issue is to do something myself.
MY QUESTION:
I've been seeing some people (on this forum mostly) run into issues with the logic board needing a serial number or it being deactivated (?)...
