Hey guys, I'm feeling like a noob trying to get flexbv to work to be able to download and view a particular board view of a mac mini 2018. Ive tried to read how to use the open board data but it's appearing to be a little confusing on how to actually look up a particular boardview. I'm using the free version to get my feet wet with the software. Ive checked to make sure under the program preferences the openboarddata.org is in the right spot which appeared to be there by default but im not able to open up and board preference to search for a specific board view. I'm probably confused on how it actually pulls the data can anyone help me?

by willis6732Hello,
Ive finally just purchased Flex BV. Ive been hesitant to purchase Flex BV due to the lack of liturature or youtube tutorials of the program basics.
What i am finding confusing is obtaining the most updated openboardview files.
https://github.com/inflex/OpenBoardData
This github page has the boardfiles available for download, but they seem like they may be out of date. It also says at the bottom that the project has moved to https://openboarddata.org/
https://openboarddata.org/
The problem when you go to openboarddata.org...-

by inflexThis is an important update for ALL the repair community.
For years now the repair industry has suffered to a new class of gatekeeper when it comes to getting our boardviews & schematics, files are being leaked out of factories but only to select groups who then no longer share those files out to the community, locking them up in a proporiatory format with online-only access.
The XZZ PCB file format has now been reverse engineered and you can now read those .pcb files in FlexBV, free, demo and licenced edtiions.

by inflexNow available, FlexBV Free edition is a slimmed down product of the full licenced version.
https://pldaniels.com/flexbv5 ( available on the downloads page or most of the way down on the main page )
If you're looking for a modern alternative to existing boardview programs that's also cross platform then consider giving FlexBV Free a go.
So what's missing?
* Schematic/PDF coupling
* Butterfly view
* Donor board part searcher
* Jobs
* Annotations
What's new/improved compared to others?

by mags2021I recently purchased a FlexBV license. When I search PDF it is too blurry to read. Do I need a specific PDF reader?
