APC BE650G2-UK surge strip UPS - not powering?
    by spleenharvester
I bought this UPS as nonworking. Annoyingly they did not mention the battery has been removed so basically a waste of money... but it's here now so I'd might as well do something with it.

The device shows no signs of life when connected to mains. If I connect a lab supply to the 12V battery terminals it powers up, and flashes the LED showing it is running on backup power. However when mains power is then applied it doesn't seem to do respond in any way. So presumably if I put an actual battery in there it would just make no attempt to charge it, it would discharge and then the unit...

PS5 Dualsense controller stick drift a mainboard issue?
    by dbuergi
    Hi all,

I got a controller where the left stick was moving left all the time (-1.00 at calibration tool). Even after changing to hall effect sticks it stayed the same and reset and all others things didn't help.
I removed the stick again and even without it calibration tool shows a movement to the left. Anybody knows where the fault can come from? Maybe any bridges or damaged SMD components?

LED TV Samsung The Frame 55 inch QE55LS03RAU Standby Light only
    by ChristianBr01
    Hello everyone,
I got a Samsung The Frame 55 inch TV for free from uncle cause it is not turning on anymore. I am in the second year of training as an electrician so I have knowledge already but I am far away from to be a pro.
The TV has Standby but ist not turning on. A Friend of mine owns a 50 inch Frame TV so I checked the One Connect Box and the One Connect Cable there. Both are good and working normally. I have opened the TV case and measured some voltages on the Board.
What I already found is that the 12.8V are not an the connector to the main board connector to the power...

iPad Pro 12.9 5th Gen Backlight Issue
    by cheebster
Hello, got an iPad Pro A2378 12.9 5th gen with no backlight. Got another test unit without screen, tested the screen, still no backlight with the test unit.
Figured out the backlight on the screen was bad, ordred a new backlight from mobilesentrix, *carefully replaced it* without damaging the lcd, oh well.
Final result, issue is still there, the screen has no back lights. So i'm back to square one, with 3 hours less and 100$ out, issue still on the screen.
The panel is still ok, i can see the apple in the middle of the screen when it kicks in, just no backlight.

DELL Nvidia GTX 750Ti Mosfet goes short after a few minutes
    by aaronkatrini
    Hi all,

I have recently picked up this Dell OEM Nvidia GTX 750Ti 2GB Video card. Its an old card I know but still wanted to get it working if possible. The problem is the following:

    - Put the card in my testing motherboard and start running Heaven benchmark
    - Benchmarks seems to run smoothly up until half way then the motherboard completely shuts off immediately
    - Try to start it again and I get a slight move from the PSU fan - a clear short
    - A little troubleshooting later I find one shorted Mosfet - Replace them both - short is gone
    - Put the...

    MacBook Air A1932
    by TOMÁŠ
Hi, I've never worked with a MacBook before, so I need some advice.
I have a MacBook Air A1932 (820-01521). When I plugged in the charger with an amp meter, it showed 19.7V and 1.9A, which indicates that it's charging, but when I press the power button, it doesn't turn on. So, I disassembled it, disconnected the battery, and plugged in the charger again. It showed 19.6V and 0.04A, and pressing the power button had no effect—no current draw at all. Then, I removed the motherboard, connected the charger again, and got the same results. I took a multimeter and checked all the coils, and everything...

    Thinkpad T480 is dead (nm-b501)
    by Darktron
    Hello all,

I tried to repair my T480 motherboard.
The PC can not power off at all.

I tried the USB-C meter on both ports : it's loop on/off. I think I can not negotiate the 10-20V voltage.
    I tested with an USB "classic" 5V charger with to USB-C : the USB-C meter displays 5,080 V, 0,02 A with some pics to 2,5 A

The USB-C meter was being tested on other USB-C device, it's works fine.

Thank you in advance for your help.
