Samsung/UN65H6300AF LOGO APPEARS AND SHUTS OFF
    by Super360
Hi as you can see from title, I have a samsung tv here that will show the smart tv logo and then no picture after that even hitting input or menu on remote and shows nothing but the backlight still appears to be on. The tv will turn itself off after a minute or so automatically. I'm somewhat confused if this is either a eeprom problem or a bad led strip problem. The power supply makes a pretty noticeable humming sound when it's turned on leading me to believe one of the leds are shorted but idk honestly. Any of you guys have any help for me? I have a good multi meter and can take pictures of whatever...

Sharp LC-65CUG8052E stripes on the display
    by korsar86
Hey, everybody.I'm asking for your help. Brought this TV in to replace the backlight. After replacing the backlight there are such stripes (see photo).
The glass is not broken, decoders are intact, everything was done very carefully and in antistatic gloves. The experience of disassembling such diagonals is great. I do not understand what is the reason for such stripes that appear a couple seconds after turning on.
Loops rewired, wiped them with alcohol, the connectors are clean. Who by experience can tell me why this happened? Perhaps at the reception did not notice when shining the...

    Haas 65" tv
    by Bholu
Today I got a 65" TV from Hass company. It was not showing any picture. I taped the 6 lines of the Tcon FFC cable on the faulty side of the shade and the picture came but the display on the side where I blocked the pins was not showing properly. I checked the volts on the VGH point and -3.5 volts was abnormal, there should be about 28 to 30 volts on this point! There were +30 volts on the VGH point on the Tcon. I put a jumper on the source PCB from the Tcon side and saw, the raster started appearing on the display. I also tried soldering the 6 blocked pins but the picture did not come properly....

Dell Inspiron 14-5448 - fan turns off and mobo keeps running
    by Felipe_Serra_83
Hi, everyone. First post of an actual repair. I'm a technician but a complete newbie with laptops.

So I got this Dell Inspiron to play with.

No charger, so I connected to my bench PSU.

The laptop also didn't include: hard disk (I added one of my own for testing, see below) and wireless PCB (but I doubt this could have anything to do with this particular failure).

------What it did (and didn't do)------

    1) I turned it on and it powered on. Powered down in 2 seconds by itself.

    2) Removed RAM, changed slot. Same...

820-01814_A Power cycling between 5v.040 A to .468A then it repeats
    by J_george
I would like some help and advice which will be much appreciated, I am looking at a mac Macbook Pro A1990 board 820-01814-A. When I connect the USBC meter via external Power Supply I see Power cycling between 5v.040 A to .468A then it repeats.
After doing some diode tests I get a complete Short on L9530 which is the output inductor for PP1V8_ssd1.
I have given the screenshot here, I would like your recommendation and advice if anything I need to test get this issue sorted Or is it SSD short , Your help on this will be much appreciated...

BIOS rebuild requested for HP Pavilion Aero 13-be0003ca laptop
    by trepachka
Hello, I have the following laptop:

    HP Pavilion Aero 13-be0003ca
    ProdID: 2L7M8UA#ABL
    S/N: 8CG150GPV6

    Motherboard information is below:

    HP Part# M52826-601
    448.ONE04.0011
    203016-1

    It needs BIOS repaired.

I created a flash drive using HP firmware utility and then had it plugged into the computer. I did the standard WinLogo->B key->Power button press. A window appeared and immediately began flashing the bios using the flash drive.
But I don't think it finished all the way. So, now when I attempt...

    Dead Vizio D40u-D1
    by catnapped
Recently had my bedroom Vizio D40u-D1 apparently die while it wasn't being used. Noticed the power LED flashing, figuring maybe a software upgrade, but attempting to turn it on proved that wasn't the case. When powered on, the power LED will flash a bunch of times after about 2 minutes then turn off again. Definitely is no picture even with a flashlight on the screen. Had the opportunity to open it up over the weekend. Doesn't apper to be anything out of the ordinary visibly inside, nor any odd smells of escaped magic smoke. Readings from the connector in the corner of the power supply board...

Sony XBR-55X930D Magically turns itself on
    by Topcat
I got paid to take this. It had the typical DPS STBY IC bad. Replace it and life was grand....or so I thought. I've never seen this one before; this TV will just magically turns itself on for no particular reason on earth. I did a hard reset on it (twice) clearing all data & settings out.....will still do this. Even removed the batteries from the remote....in the unlikely even there was a stuck key... Still doing it. I did not set up any of the 'smart' functions, I just fed it a source from a HTPC. It doesn't matter what input is selected.....still does it. No rhyme or reason as to frequency....

220VAC locales... ever used DC to feed switch mode power supples...and how many volts is generally okay?
    by eccerr0r
For those in 220V locales, anyone power their SMPS with DC, and how high of a voltage is okay?
    What kind of PSU?
I suspect that 240V * sqrt(2) = 340V DC is probably fine because that would be about how much the the primary rectifier ends up with peak voltage. Just wondering, other than input capacitor voltages, can one go up above this 340V without damage? Will that input capacitor be the upper bound?
Wondering if exactly that, can I feed near 400VDC into bona fide specced at 220V SMPS without damage?

Currently have a 120/220V switchable SMPS I want to see if I...

Lenovo legion y540 adapter pin id
    by TheOtherGuy
So I'm having difficulty finding line drawings for this motherboard NM-C53. My charging port was broken. So I replaced it with a terrible solder job. Problem is pin 3 on the drawing I saw on here has it listed as adapter-id. Now I checked my other pins and I have continuity (resistance check from power to ground). Pin 3 shows nothing. Now I boot the computer and it says to use a power adapter with the proper wattage and won't charge. I have read that pin 3 is usually tied to a resistor that identifies the charging power thus disabled the ability to charge if it fails the check. I look at my board...

    by Kiberge
    HI guys!

I've got a Samsung LH82QENELGC/EN with a problem and need some advice and I hope this is the forum to use?
I'm from Norway so I'd like to apology in advance if my description of the fault is kind of simple or the names on the components are way off. 😊

the TV is powering up, working as normally and picture is all good, except a 1.5-inch-wide vertical line of snow/static across the screen.

This TV is a Signage Display/Public Display version and it's been used at my work for 4-5 years showing commercials 24/7. The fault occurred when...

    Philips PSU (715G7350-P01-000-002S) behaving funny
    by hervou
    Hi all,

I'm becoming crazy trying to fix the Philips TV of my old man (model 43PUS6201/12 - the TV, not my dad). I've read again and again discussions about this and similar TV models, on badcaps (thanks so much !). I see no other option than asking for your help.

The symptom is simple : when I plug the power cord, the red "stand-by" LED does not light on anymore, and the TV powers-on neither with the remote control nor with the rear button. I guess at this point you immediately think at the 5V (or other voltage depending on the hardware) stand-by output......
