    PS3 CECHC03 60GB YLOD Troubleshooting
    by Woodsworth
I have a post on psx-place for this but thought I'd try here as well in case anyone has experience or the schematics or any kind of help. Here's the original post from psx-place:

Hi, so I bought a YLOD Fat PS3 as I wanted a repair project and thought it would be a good way to get experience. I was able to solder to the RX, TX and Diag pads on the COK-002 motherboard and was able to get external access and retrieved the codes. I haven't powered it on beforehand so these should be the last ones. I did try to get internal access immediately after but kept getting scopen response...

    IR21531S odd behaviour
    by jjne
I have a Boston Acoustics Soundwave subwoofer that I'm trying to resuscitate. It was blowing fuses and I narrowed the problem down to the main switching power supply which had blown MOSFETs. These are controlled by an IR21531S.

My understanding of these ICs is they work similarly to a 555 timer and provide constant, and opposing-phase frequency to a high and low output, in this case 50KHz.

What I found was that the LO was oscillating normally but the HO was sat at a constant 12v. This apparently was causing the HO-linked FET to fail. OK, it's a blown 21531, these are...

HP ProBook 450 G3 DAOX63MB6H1 no turning on
    by c.daniel
Hello, please help; i have this notebook, when i plug in the charger, power led is light white a little bit and that's it.

With charger insert, only mainboard, no ram, no bios battery, no keyboard, no display, i have:
Input voltage go through first 2 mosfet's and current sense resistor.
    At PL29 i have 5volts.

    Without charger, i have:
    On PU2, on PC2 +3VPCU to GND i have 2,5ohms
    On PL16 +1.0VS5 S2 to GND i have 0,1ohm; that's is not correct, right?

I attached boardview and manual; thank you.

    Lenovo Thinkpad Ec Pwd Bypass
    by Maxpower3
    Hello everyone.

Here is the bypass solution for several Lenovo ECs.
This has worked on many ECs.
Only works if password is contained in EC

    I succeeded on many models

Why are there two inputs mosfets?
    by mikay786
Just trying to fix this old Alienware m14x laptop.

found a shorted capacitor and a shorted mosfet on the input mosfet pair.

im i newish to this and was wondering why you almost always have a pair of identical mosfets on in the input? They both do the same thing so what the point?

also on a side note i am eager to test laptop since no short now, is there a way to bypass the 2nd mosfet for a temporary solution until replacement arrives?...

Macbook pro 13 A1708 Low voltage on bios chip
    by Marek011
Hi, While trying to unsolder the BIOS chip, I accidentally blew out the R6130 capacitor and now I'm wondering what kind of capacitor it is because I don't know which one to buy. Getting to the point. The Mac draws 20v and 0.330A and does not turn on, it is dead. On pin 8 of the BIOS chip (U6100), the meter shows only 1v and then drops to 0v. After connecting the USB tester to the board itself (with all ribbons disconnected), the board consumes 5V and 0.024A

    Where could the problem be?
