by AdrenalinTLHi,
Very new to this. So pretty basic / silly question. Can this be the cause of a totally dead mobo? And, is it repairable if I bridge tracks etc?
Thanks1 PhotoToday, 11:36 AM -
by Super360Hi as you can see from title, I have a samsung tv here that will show the smart tv logo and then no picture after that even hitting input or menu on remote and shows nothing but the backlight still appears to be on. The tv will turn itself off after a minute or so automatically. I'm somewhat confused if this is either a eeprom problem or a bad led strip problem. The power supply makes a pretty noticeable humming sound when it's turned on leading me to believe one of the leds are shorted but idk honestly. Any of you guys have any help for me? I have a good multi meter and can take pictures of whatever...4 Photos04-13-2024, 10:05 PM

by norbiszokeHello,
We have this set here in our shop that is not ginving sign of life besides red light that is blinking one time after pressing the button and nothing more... After detaching the mainboard from the PSU (this set has separate board thank god?! or not...) the backlight comes on. After reattaching nothing besides red light.... Can anyone from the forum help me here? Thank you in advance. Here's a link with images of the mainboard and the memory IC's that are on it.

by BabbarI found a project in the electronics trash yesterday. A nice Argon SA1 audio amp with some electrical issue. Took it apart and saw that the 4A250V fuse was blown so started lifting components to find the short. Eventually got to two MOSFETs (model FTA14N50C) that are shorted and when i took them out the short was gone.
Now i didn't have any replacements of the same model of course but i found a couple with pretty similar spec i thought (K10A60D & K12A50D) and put them in. Also replaced the blown fuse with a 3.5A250V one. Checked another time for short circuit and plugged it in....04-12-2024, 01:12 AM -
by DoOm86TV philips 55'' no backlight (image ok).
I tested the backlight with my led tester from the unplugged connector cable and it lights up. I had voltages at the motherboard connector, but anyway I order a new psu. Same problem, same voltages. Disassembled the TV and checked every strip with my led tester, they all light up, same voltage for every pair of strip (they go two by two).
What am I missing?
And something else I don't understand. I checked and I have 3v Leds, 10 per strips. Why every pair of strip (so 20 Led) take about 32v when powered up with my led tester 🤔2 PhotosYesterday, 03:47 PM -
I've just been repairing some (very) old speakers with a loud hum that occurred as soon as you powered them on regardless if any actual audio is played through them. I work in a School so it's 99% likey that the Teachers have hardly ever turned the power off on them for well over 10+ years.

by chth96Hello.
I have 29inch LG CRT TV,And Yesterday,Whenever I connect AC power cord to power outlet without switch on, I heard a sound like white noise, And When I switched on this CRT TV, It sometime displayed correctly But usually It won't last more than 20 minute and The screen begin to dark and It finally did not display at all for hours..
Today,I dismantled its plastic case and discharged the biggest capacitor(400wv 470uf) which still holds 250 voltage, and I finally detached PCB from cathode-ray tube.
I measured ESR value of most of caps in PCB with MESR-100 and I found that KME(25v...-

by trepachkaSee attached image. It says "X322" on it. This is a follow-up to my previous posted topic. The issue is upon lid closing, the screen turns off. When lid is opened, the screen remains dark.
This component is positioned right on the edge of the motherboard and has like a cradle made inside the case. I am assuming this component is used as a lid close sensor.
Please, help me identify it. Thank you....Yesterday, 03:26 PM -

by zwectI recently got this laptop on a trade labeled for parts, when first testing it, the motherboard starts on, the power LED stays on while the gpu and cpu fans ramp up in different speeds, then it turns off after half a minute or so.
No flashes from the LED daughterboard that indicates battery and HDD, but the battery seems perfect and even charges if plugged (with it's LED on accordingly).
BIOS and EC were reflashed, did a clean ME already, no change in symptom but then i noticed 3 things while looking through the board:
PU5 (NB671LGQ-Z) was burnt in one of the pins, i swapped...Today, 09:43 AM -
by loftonHello, I was flashing the bios but now the machine does not come, the battery indicator turns orange when charge is plugged in. As soon as it plugged by charger or battery the power button and escape blinks once then fade out Sometime it blinks 3 timess . With the back case off i can see the fan spins a little then top, but once i press the button it spins a little then stop and repeat for a while until stops. I have attached the bios dump. I had read the chip next to the cmos battery (25q80jvsiq) then i realize that it wasn't the bios. as the bios is next the memory slot. By doing that could...

by hasefrochHello everyone, I got this notebook, mainboard SKITTL10-6050A273001-MB-A1
Saw the U6100 blown up, so didn't even try to power it up.
Sems that there is not a schematic or boardview of this one, so I attached some pictures (some look distorted; the ic looks like a qfn-16 3x3).
Maybe is the RT2790A; looks to me compatible but their product code is 3B= XX and mine is 38=
Hope someone knows this one.
Thanks in advance.4 PhotosToday, 06:29 AM -
by Carl0s-Hi,
Sooo - our IT got a pile of old iPads that the sales guys have been mistreating. These are free for grabs if you want to try to get one working. Thought I'd give it a try - if I get at least some life to I can give to my kid to entertain during a car rides.
But the iPad it self - its a 5th gen cellular model. When I initially plug it in it was completely dead. It was not recognized by my Mac nor it started to charge. Disassembled it opened up the battery connector and checked the battery voltage. My multimeter showed 0,7v. Had a spare micro-usb charging board lying...04-15-2024, 12:51 PM
