by freakaftr8So this laptop seems to have some kind of failure. I bought it second hand and originally the previous owner said that they went to turn it on and it was presented with a quick flash of the power light the keyboard lit up and then the keyboard shut off and the power light went off as well but the battery indicator was white and after about 5 to 7 Seconds flashes orange really quick then shuts off and goes back to White. If the power button is pressed again the keyboard lights up really quick and then repeats. When I got it I could press the power button multiple times the keyboard light would...Yesterday, 10:58 PM

by tintin_sn2I recently purchased a second hand RTX 2070 - an OEM Acer Predator manufactured by Sapphire - not a very common model.
Upon connecting it up I noticed the fan wasn't operating resulting in the card overheating and shutting down. I checked the fan operation independently by connecting it directly to a power supply and function generator - it was working correctly with variable speed according to the square wave frequency.
I then checked the output with a multimeter/DSO and verified that the GPU was putting out both 12V at pin 2 and PWM at pin 4. However, when the fan is...1 PhotoToday, 08:09 PM -
by sammus540I have a Vostro 3420 8H8K5R3-8FC8 that freeze at any attempt to enter bios password or the recovery master password received from dell. I do not have a clean BIOS image to flash.
And as luck would have it happened a couple of months ago right outside of the warranty period (Dec 2023) warranty expired in September. Any help or guidance is appreciated.-

Hello Everyone!
I have an Inspiron 7520 motherboard (Compal LA-8241P) it gives a processor error, 7 beeps, I tested the processor on another board and it's ok, the board voltages are ok but I have my doubts about the voltages +VCC_CORE( 0.27V) and +VGA_CORE(10.0V) I also didn't find voltage at +VCC_GFXCORE_AXG in PL704, can someone explain to me why VCC_CORE is 0.27, shouldn't it be approximately 1V? and VGA_CORE, is this voltage correct? Would it be a possible solution to the defect to change the pu801? I recently started repairing boards and I have very little experience so forgive...03-25-2024, 05:53 PM -
by mecha1166About 2 times a year, a customer will do this. We fix the tv, put it on test play, and customer sees it working. They see me pull power and video wire. Sometimes I pick up tv, right in front of them, and carry it out to their vehicle while they are next to me. I set it in their tv gently, and tell them the tv is very fragile, be careful with it. I let them close the door/trunk. That day, or a few days later, they tell me there is a crack inside the tv. Normally I tell them transportation is their responsibility and normally that is the end of it. Has anyone had a customer that was not buying this...Today, 11:27 AM

by tec3000Hi community! Germany calling I am wondering if you guys can help me out. I have an issue with my Sony LED TV. I've been told this is a good place to ask. Thanks for anyone who will reply and offer advice. Appreciated!
I have a KD-65X9005A Sony 4k LED TV. For a few weeks I've got this problem where I turn on the TV and within a few seconds the TV starts getting darker until it shuts itself off and I get the 4 blinking error code. HOWEVER there is one exception: Whenever I switch to the i-Manual, a full screen on-screen instruction manual, the TV never turns off. I tested for hours!...03-20-2024, 07:29 AM -

by FronczekHello people,
I've got this laptop not working for repairs, and as you can see something was done to it as you can see in the coils PL58XX (which I for some reason cannot find in the schematics...) The first FET (PQ201) was not an original part and a questionable one at that and the second one (PQ202) was shorted. Both are N-channel. Ordered replacements for them and replaced them after arrival. Now I have encountered another problem: there is no power at the second FET. By following the thread linked I got to the injection part. Applied 0.8V at 1.5A, but couldn't feel anything getting hot,...Technical discussions covering any type of laptop, notebook, netbook, tablet, or smartphone. Any and all brands and models welcome. When starting a new thread, please put the make AND model of your device in the thread title. Also be VERY descriptive of your issue, that way you'll get the best answer possible!Yesterday, 04:18 AM -
by reassorThere is 2 sia ics and in 1 section where u see dots on the coils i have 2.2ohm there and there is no voltage on them at all.
Also i read in other topić how psu works on these tvs and when u pług it in there is constant 40w draw from wall. When I unplug display from tcon it drops 10w when I unplug tcon it drops another 10w (unplug done w/o power ).
I'm mostly sure its main board cpu cause no sygnał to turn on 24 volt for panel and its constant draw.
For now I'm just curios about these w coils . Could not find any datasheet for ic thats the lines go...1 PhotoYesterday, 11:06 PM -
