Hi All,
Laptop: ASUS F15 TUF Dash FX517ZC-HN114W
Context: When I was out the house my partner hard shutdown laptop while BIOS was updating, so my son has no working laptop now. Also as a result I know the BIOS on the chip is messed up so I can’t extract it using the ch341a and use it to perform the method explained on site to modify an update downloaded from the ASUS website to get the BIN to flash.
If anyone can help with a BIOS BIN/ROM file for this laptop, I would be forever in your debt! Thanks if you can help!

by chaos-theoryI have a card that does post at all, the owner said it does go into windows but it gets stuck on the logo with artifacts, I have no idea if he is lying or not... I tried the card on my pc and it does not post at, no beeps, no bios nothing just all fans turning and nothing else. I tried plugging DVI or hdmi but nothing, I tried unplugging the 8 pin plug from the power supply and it's the same thing.
I just want it to post and get into the bios at least.
Forgive me if I am wrong, but I tested the 3 PCIe 12v power pins on the left(550ohm) and the 4th one from the right 3.3v (400ohm),...Yesterday, 02:42 AM -

Hi, everyone. First post of an actual repair. I'm a technician but a complete newbie with laptops.
So I got this Dell Inspiron to play with.
No charger, so I connected to my bench PSU.
The laptop also didn't include: hard disk (I added one of my own for testing, see below) and wireless PCB (but I doubt this could have anything to do with this particular failure).
------What it did (and didn't do)------
1) I turned it on and it powered on. Powered down in 2 seconds by itself.
2) Removed RAM, changed slot. Same...04-04-2024, 12:39 PM -
by ongobongoHi there,
I got this laptop which was not working at all. When attached to an amp-meter, the meter wasn't working at all also. I quickly found out that the PD-Power switch was gone and fully shorting to ground. After replacing that (NX20P5090) I got live back into the laptop.
Now the battery is charging, charge indicator is working and the power led is blinking 3 times when i attach a charger. but, unfortunately, this is it. When i push the power-button, the power led turns on, but that's it. No display, no beep, no fan spin, nothing (but cpu gets warm).
I tried flashing a new...Today, 03:01 PM -

by totofGood morning.
I have a problem with my LG Smart 43UF640V TV. It starts, the backlight comes on but nothing is displayed on the screen and there is no sound.
I thought it was a TCon problem and ran various tests. If I disconnect one or the other of the cables from the tcon to the panel then the screen is white on the side where the cable is disconnected and black on the other side. If the two cables are disconnected the screen is completely black.
In the 4 configurations I measure exactly the same voltages on the tcon card (model V15 43UHD TM120 Ver0.4) :

There was no ssd inside I placed the new ssd and tried to start the laptop but the only thing I get when I start up is a black screen and the keyboard is lighted up and changes the colors. No fan spinning ( but the downside is getting warm so the cpu is working I guess) and the led for charging the battery is on. Can't boot into the bios via f2. It's now looking like I bought a brick and got scammed.. can anybody help me out with this problem please?[/INDENT]...Today, 02:01 AM

Some one was in here before me and they basically burned the bottom side of the traces off for the radial cap but i was able to repair it without any real problem. I thought i did a good job sourcing out replacement caps but apparently not and now i can't get the power supply to turn on it just constantly try's to keep turning on. by paparazzo79Hi guys.
I own Alienware 17 r3 6820HK GTX 980M.
I purchased it recently tried some gaming (Rise of the Tomb Raider, Serious Sam) and after 10-15.min games freeze, but I could hear audio from game.
Now I am not yet at home, but when it happens I do get separate window error message and will post it later.
Then again there are moments when I could play for like an hour and no errors.
From my experience reading about this issue, this means my GPU is dying, correct?
I installed most recent nVidia drivers.

by RotVikHello everyone, I come here in search of wisdom and hope.
I got this laptop with charging problems, apparently it charged ok while turned off but it would not charge while powered on, anyways I was doing initial measurements looking at the voltaje on the ID Pin, it is a 135W DC Adapter and the pin actually measured 1.9V that looks ok, anyways, while doing that, I accidentally shorted the ID pin DETECT(ID) with one of the 20V pins, sparkles and it automatically killed the TVS Diode PD102, and also made a cute burning hole on the middle of the KBC or EC chip UE1, it is a IT8227E-128,...Today, 01:04 PM -
by unimatrix93Hello everyone,
I'm trying to fix a small LG TV with wierd issue.
So I check that the display is OK by fashing a lamp at the screen. LCD is okay OSD is showing up.
Now since the BL is dark, I disconneted the BL from the mainboard and I injected voltage to it with my blacklight tester.
The BL turns on, the tester shows around 80V. So the led strips are okay it seems.
Now I started to suspect the BL driver IC which is a MP3378.
I have a donor board (dead cpu) with the same IC, so I swapped the driver IC but it did not solve the issue.

by norbiszokeHello,
We have this set here in our shop that is not ginving sign of life besides red light that is blinking one time after pressing the button and nothing more... After detaching the mainboard from the PSU (this set has separate board thank god?! or not...) the backlight comes on. After reattaching nothing besides red light.... Can anyone from the forum help me here? Thank you in advance. Here's a link with images of the mainboard and the memory IC's that are on it.
