We once had a toaster oven catch fire from the control unit while it was off. We contacted GE, they sent some one to our house to pick it up, they dropped off their best Toaster oven they make free of charge and refunded us the full retail price of the unit that caught fire. And it was 3 years old.
Some companies take this stuff serious, not sure if LG does but might give them a ring?
It seems to be shorting the return trace out which is why thats burning up. Very odd.

so what am i seeing, the pcb shorting against the backplate, or arcing between the tracks on the board?
it's very uniform along the length!
One LED failing short circuit in a series chain causing other LEDs to fail catastrophically and then leading to the array basically being a short across the power board output would be my guess.
