Hi.Again I hope I am in the right forum... I removed two SMD Mosfets on my power board and I am not happy and would welcome any tip on how I clean it up prior to my soldering new mosfets on....I have attached two photos ..one of a new board and one of my board ... you will see the difference... Can anybody advise me please on the technique I should apply to clean up the area where the Mosfets came off ..Thanks Hk

Liquid flux , solder wick, isopropyl alcohol...
Apply liquid flux on the solder wick, put the wick over the solder, heat it up and let it absorb the solder. Clean the pad and surroundings with alcohol as the black stuff is burnt flux as far as I can tell. Apply a new layer of solder over the pad before applying the new mosfets |

Depends on if your using Lead Free or regular 60/40 (or other) type solder. The lead free stuff melts at a higher temperature. Check the package the solder came in for a melting point.
