I finally got fedora x64... and on both cores!

my p4 ht box is down... found out nvidia's prop. drvers for the fx5200 do not play well with fedora 15 x86... Tomorrow I might take a stab at making it fly again. it is in the basement, but it has a decent cooler and doesn't get too awful hot (yes, it is run in HT mode)

the pIII 800 is in the attic hotbox... it uses very little power and doesn't put out much heat (the rambus more than anything). that room gets so hot as it is... once the wiring gets redone it will dig out the window AC unit left by the last owners.

besides, the p4 prescott 630 (3ghz, 2M, HT, x64) next door puts out more heat, and it doesn't fold (dad's computer, not mine). the pwm fans are always howling, but then again the cpu push-pins are stretched and need replaced.

I'm running another temporary machine at the moment, so my rate went up by about 3000ppd. Also, trying to run the nvidia client on my 8600gt at home, when I remember to start it. I have to shut it off to even browse the web, because it slows the response down so much. I usually forget to turn it back on before bed. It's good for 1000ppd... when its running.

In folding news, the team is currently at 192nd place overall. However, the trends show that we're going to be knocked down a few notches over the next few weeks. People are catching up to us faster than we're overtaking other defunct teams.

Swordphsh bumped up to 3rd place, and will be taking over 2nd before too long. I've got my new 460gtx folding away, and it has increased my output by around 5000ppd... I'm coming to get you, Topcat!

I quit folding on the PS3 back a few months ago. Kept locking up even after I cleaned out all the dust and put fresh thermal paste on.

yeah...i'll be up and running again soon. trying to figure out a good arrangement for furniture right now. My old 80GB PS3s worked great. I did have both of them fail while on vacation though....but I think that was a line surge even though everything was on a UPS...that also went belly up.

well see what these new slims can do....
