Default Sanyo DP26746 No Backlight

The issue started with the "picture" going out but the TV still apparently working. Still tuned in to the program, still had audio, etc. The CFLs turned on for a short time, 1-5 seconds at most, and quickly shut off again. Obviously an issue with the inverter board or related power supply.

I initially tore down the set looking for obviously bad parts, and not finding any reassembled the set and put it aside for a few weeks.

I came back to the problem today after finding this forum due to an issue I had with a video card several days ago. (I ordered replacement caps from the store, installed and the card is working better than new!) I double checked the caps on the inverter board and the power supply board, all of which look to be in good shape and not bulging, leaking, etc. They all appear to be good quality Nichicon or Suncon capacitors.

More digging about the particular brand of inverter board, Darfon, led me to checking the inverter transformers and finding one with an obviously bad secondary. The problem I am having is locating a suitable replacement transformer. I've searched the ID on the top of the transformer as many ways as I can think of and come up empty.

The closest I've gotten is this transformer. The secondary resistance matches, but I have not yet removed the bad transformer from the board to check the primary resistances. Also, the transformer on my board does not look exactly like the one linked.

Transformer: 4007L631.149(GP)
DARFON Inverter Board: V144 4H.V1448.331/C

Any advice anyone can lend on finding a replacement part would be greatly appreciated. I have found used inverter boards around the web, but if possible I would just as soon replace the bad part rather than buy an entire new board.

While I don't know the answer to your question, I've read that lcdparts.net has a good selection of replacement transformers and some around here have done business with them. They may be able to help suggest (and sell you) a good replacement.

The significant characters are 4007L. The remainder are production codes. Google 4007L transformer I found one source in the UK, and another in China selling the complete inverter for $35 a set.

Thank you. I actually found another post by you here shortly after I posted mine where you described the important part of the DARFON transformer codes.

I checked the UK site out, www.chsinteractive.co.uk/, but they apparently only ship in the UK and to mainland Europe. Another supplier in Australia seems to be the same, only shipping within country. I know what to look for at least so I can start emailing the US suppliers if all else fails.
