Hey,
so I have this dual PIII-1000 machine I built for personal satisfaction, with 1GB PC133-CL2 RAM and a GF FX5600 and 2 HDD on the ATA100 controller...
The board is a MSI 694D Pro AR (MS-6321) and fulfills its purpose completely. It's running Windows XP since a few days (Updated from Windows 2000 due to compatibility issues with some newer programs that are losing W2k support soon).
Now, my main issue here is that I cannot use the AGP4x. I read that it's a common quirk with the VIA Chipset and Nvidia cards. Nvidia driver always goes to AGP2x.
I've tried RIVATuner to force it to AGP4x, which worked but anything 3D was extremely unstable (1 image.... wait 5 seconds... black screen..... new image) and lead to a locked up machine..
I've tried the Hyperion-Pro-Registry-Trick without luck (the damn key doesn't even exist for me lol), and also tried various version of the 4in1 drivers.
I have no clue why this is happening but it really sucks.
Any ideas?
Cheers,
Oerg
