smd cap approx 5mm x 6mm high, markings 95TA, 47, 16v, is this 47uF 16v? Its been broken off a mobo when the owner tried to fit a graphics card. Ordering a single unit in the uk may be difficult but I've managed to find a cap on a graphics card with the markings 24, 47, 6A possibly 1mm higher but the same diameter could this be used?

47uF 16v - yes
24, 47, 6A - sounds like 47uF but 6 volt, so no. |

Thanks, thought that possibly was 6v, what does the 95TA mean. What would be a widely available replacement, is esr an issue?

pc is a compaq presario sr1000, mobo is ms 7184 v1.0, cap is directly inline with pciex16 slot, fortunately the cap was still in the case and made the fault finding easier. I'll post a few pics shortly

You can see the solder pads where the cap was fitted next to the mounting hole, the cap between the 2 slots and next to the via and realtek chips is the same value.

Plastic base is: 5.3mm x 5.3mm Cap is: 5mm x 5.8mm Minimum 5 pcs = $3.32 ESR: 0.7Ω Ripple: 160mA These are more for noise filtering & trace length compensation than power filtering. |

Although a slightly bigger case width, is this cap suitable?
http://cpc.farnell.com/jsp/search/pr...sp?sku=CA05545 Digikey shipping is pretty expensive to uk. |

And exactly how would I know where you are located? Location box in profile......? RS Online has a better selection. Either is fine, in order of my preference: http://uk.rs-online.com/web/search/s...duct&R=0568474 http://uk.rs-online.com/web/search/s...duct&R=5370461 |

Thought I had mentioned uk. For some reason I thought rs had a minimum order value, but it seems they don't anymore, so problem solved.
