Arion AW-8700 series - bad Luxon LU

I bought this unit from a local junk shop (was used by a defunct provider, SelecTV, and was rebadged SD-2000S for the provider), and upon opening it, C14 (1000uF 16V Luxon LU, on the 7.5V rail, which is also connected to a 5V regulator near the tuners) on the power supply board was bulging and bringing down this rail, subsequently causing unreliable reception.
Replacing this capacitor (along with the others) fixed this problem.
My first choice in quality Japanese electrolytics is Nippon Chemi-Con, which has been in business since 1931... the quality of electronics is dependent on the quality of the electrolytics.

There's something about those oddball rails - replaced a Samxon GF on the 8v rail in my digital cable box last year, because it stopped receiving some stations. And yes that rail was feeding a 5v reg as well. I can see a pattern.
