Philips 42PF7220 can't get HDMI from Hotwire box

I had Hotwire installed in my community and had to make the switch from Comcast. When they hooked up the Pace IPH8005 STB to my old Philips 42PF7220 Plasma it would work with HDMI. We ended up having to connect through component cables. I was told that the ipTV format was the cause and there was no software update for the old Philips to fix it. Has anyone experienced anything similar and was there a work around.

It may be that your Philips TV does not support the latest HDCP (data encryption/copy protection) features the Pace box requires.
