either the hard drive is dying or the psu is not supplying clean power to the hard drive. could also be a bad psu cable making intermittent contact with the power connector. try another power connector or psu. better start backing up your data just in case!

You're still using that junk power supply.
I'd connect that drive inside a computer, to the computer's power supply, and back it up.
If you've really been using that POS you still think has a chance, that drive's been subjected to some nasty power.
