    Picture of the relays? There will be coil Voltage rating printed on top of the relay.
    Hard to get a pic of the relay tops. They read:

    981-2A-24DS
    3A 125VAC
    5A 50VAC
    SP7 814L

    Using the case as a common ground, I measured the 2 coil pins on each relay.

    I get 11.8v on one pin and -11.8v on the other for relay 101, 103, and 105.

    On relay 104 and 102 I get -11.8v on both coil pins.

    Not sure how to interpret that.

      You have to measure at those two pins of the relay to read the Voltage on the coil, do not use chassis GND, we are trying to read actual Voltage on the coil, the coil is rated at 24VDC.

        Gotcha.

        101, 103, and 105 all have -24v at the coil.

        102 and 104 have 0v.

        From the block diagram it looks like the coil voltage comes from IC101, which is one of those Sanyo amplifier chips. Should I try to replace the IC? It's kind of expensive but worth it if it fixes it.

          On relay RY101,3,5 You have -12 on pin 6 of the relay because it is directly connected to the -12 volt supply, You have +12 on pin 1 because Q121 (ry101) is turned on connecting the +12 volt supply to pin 1 giving a total of 24 volts accross the coil activating it
          On RY102,4 Q122 (ry102) is turned off, so you have -12 on pin 6 of the relay and with no current flowing through the coil there is no voltage drop so -12 on pin 1 also.
          looks like (RY102) HPRY is the "headphone relay" on/off and (RY104) MRYB is the main speakers "B" on/off
          try turning on speaker b and seeif the voltage across ry104 changes, looks like there could also be a headphone on/off in the menu
          Ry101 connects speaker front a L/R to the amp signal, RY104 connects amp signal to headphone jack

            Relay coils are not DRIVEN by the Audio power amp IC, look at the schematic how the relay coils are being driven.

                RY101 is for speaker front A L & R so you should have should have sound on set A speaker L and R. So are you sure RY101 is ON or not?

                  I would suspect IC101, as long as there is audio signal getting to the ic (not being muted for some reason), a scope would come in handy for this, I would bet -50 and +50 are on the pins 1,2 and 3,8 I would check pins 18,19 & 4.5 they should be 0 volts or very close to 0.
                  If you can find Q103 & Q104, make sure they have around -12 volts on their bases and 0 on e. & c (they are muting transistors by the looks of it)

                    My mistake. I can get 24v on the coils of 104 if I switch speaker selections. But still no sound output even with "test all" tones playing.

                    Still nothing on coil RY102 (head phone) but maybe it's because I don't have headphones connected?? Not too concerned about that.

                    So even when 101 coil is energized, no output out of Front A L/R and with 104 energized no output from Front B L/R.

                    Center and Sur L/R continue to function.

                      I can confirm that RY101 coil has 24v, "test all" test tone is playing, volume is maxed out, speaker is connected to Front A, and still no sound.

                      And nothing front Front B either, when RY104 has 24v at the coil.

                        As RJ suggested, find out if you do have audio going in to the IC or not.

                          The audio for front L/R "A" and for front L/R "B" come from the same audio output IC (IC101) Follow the front left signal path in the schematic and you will see that it is supplied to pins 2 & 5 of RY102 & RY104, then it is switched by them to feed either "A" or "B" speakers

                          Find C1002 & C1003 and with the amp on, hold a small piece of bare wire or use a small screwdriver (while touching the shaft with your finger) and touch the - side of the capacitor and see if you get any hum through speakers front L or R

                            IC101 replaced and the problem is resolved.

                            Sorry for not taking the extra steps you guys suggested. I was getting fed up with this thing and just decided to swap IC101.
