    Samsung 245BW cold start problem

Everyday morning for the last one week, when I turn on the PC, the Samsung SyncMaster 245BW display doesn't show anything, just a black screen. Then I just disconnect the power to the monitor or flip the switch in the back, the display comes back live.

I noticed that, it happens when temperature in the room is below 75F, other times it is as normal.

Anybody knows what is causing this?

If you don't have a tester, you should replace all of them, or at least the ones that are leaking.

Check the numerous threads about the 245B and 245B Plus in this corner of Badcaps.net, invaluable info on this particular failure and how to fix it awaits you.

Re: Samsung 245BW cold start problem

I found two bulged Capacitors in my monitor. Both of them are 1000 uF, 10 V, 105 C.
I have been looking to buy two capacitors to replace. I prefer Panasonic, but I can't find one or don't know where to look.

I am not familiar with this, so the silly questions .

              1. Is this a correct part showing in this link?
              https://www.digikey.com/product-deta...4-1-ND/1662564

It says "lead free". If there is no lead how do I solder it?
Where can I find a Panasonic capacitor with the above specification?

              2. I saw a repair kit for Samsung 245. It comes with 15 capacitors and 3 resistors. It says, " We only use the highest quality Panasonic, Nichicon and Rubycon capacitors in our repair kits "

I wonder if those capacitors are genuine or counterfeit. Anybody has any experience with them? Here is the link
              https://www.amazon.com/Repair-Samsun.../dp/B0067G3HAQ

Please give me some advice regarding this.

I don't have any idea which one to buy.

It means it does not contain any lead:

I didn't take Caps out of the board to measure and don't have the specification sheet. This power board model is BN44-00173A. I put everything back and using the same monitor now since I don't have a spare one.

But I took a picture of it. Please take a look at it.
