    Opens or closes?

    http://www.mouser.com/Search/Product...wvon6sqw%3d%3d

I am thinking about buying that to control a fan for the front of my computer. My only question is, does it open the circuit at the specified temp, or close it?

Mouser says it closes it from the filters and checklist, but the description said it opens at the temp?

    Re: Opens or closes?

WTF!! Mouser messed up. Mouser says CLOSES, but datasheet says STO-140 "OPENS" means it's normally closed and OPENS within the specified temperature range.

It will stop conducting at 135-145°F (57-63°C). Mouser page is wrong. 56-64°C is the STC-140. WHOOOOPEEEE! for 1 degree.

To turn ON a fan you want the STC-140

Here is a link to the Stancor data sheet for disc thermostats.

Why throw it away? I might need it in the next 40 years. Duh!
